About the Archive

Preserving the Voice of Lithuania

The Lietuvos Dainų ir Kino Archyvas is a digital preservation project dedicated to the folk music traditions and cinematic heritage of Lithuania — from the ancient polyphonic sutartinės of Aukštaitija to the Soviet-era films of Vilnius Studio.

Our collection spans oral traditions collected by ethnographers from the 19th century, rare recordings from the first era of Lithuanian independence (1918–1940), and digitised film reels from the Vilnius Film Studio archive.

The music player accepts direct audio URLs from your cloud storage — paste a Dropbox, Google Drive, or any direct MP3 link to add songs to your personal playlist. Your queue is preserved during your session.
